Harry Potter fanartists have been SUSPENDED by Livejournal/SixApart

imaginarycircus at innocence_jihad has written an article about it - the link I posted is a link to that article, for anyone who doesn't know yet.

This first happened in May when pornish_pixies was deleted and despite LJ swearing blind that it wouldn't happen again, it has, with no warning and no recourse. I don't have all the details, so clicky on the link to read more. But I am PISSED OFF.

What the fuck would Livejournal BE without fandom, eh?

So, owing to that, I have made myself another journal over at Greatest Journal, with the same username as this (and it looks the same, too, as I am crafty ++), to continue my fandom activities. I'll be posting to both journals from now on, so anyone who wants to find me elsewhere on the web for whatever reason can do so at http://arianbrightside.greatestjournal.com/

Time will tell where fandom will go, but at the moment GJ is looking like the one, though there is talk of building a fandom-devoted LJ clone. So I will probably end up there.

Well, Livejournal, I am back.

I am not sure what I want to say - I got all the reading done in less than 12 hours and then I cried.

So this is the Potter-less universe? It hasn't been overly Potter-less, I have been reading FictionAlley Park pretty intensively.

I suppose I will say more after I have read the book again. Give me a chance to absorb it better.

Alright pplz, I am about to go to bed for a 3.30 wake up tomorrow morning.

Because it is Friday 20th of June, and it is the day Mark and I are flying to Sydney to go to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book release with Elle.

ALL FORMS OF COMMUNICATION ARE NOW EMBARGOED.

My phone will be off from 8.30 Saturday morning until I finish reading the book, so don't bother trying to call me.
I will not be watching the news, or listening to the radio or using the web until I finish reading the book.(In your face, spoilers!)

I will be back in Melbourne on Monday 23rd July, by which time the embargo should be lifted.

To my fandom peepz, past and present, (you know who you are but I'll say your names anyway) mugglerock, enamours_boy, moonflower_rose, mytailorisrich, anthimaeria, songmuse, firefox1490, msf_cg_e, and anyone who I've forgotten - we're here. We're at the end. This is what it comes down to. I love you all, and I love these stories that brought you all into my life.
Especially you, Ches, you're amazing. You don't even realise how much I admire you.

I can't wait to see you all again on Monday, in a post Deathly Hallows universe. I wonder what the future will bring us...

Well, I am almost finished making the costumes. Just a bit of trimming on my cloak and skirt and we're good to go.
I am going to be AFK from July 20th to July 23rd - in Sydney. Getting the book from Borders Skygarden in the City with Elle and then holing up in the hotel room to read it.

Avoiding all forms of traditional media til I have finished reading.

OMG.

I am so excited, and yet I don't want it to end. What am I going to do after Harry Potter? I mean, there's a bit more mileage in iet yet, what with all the fandom flailing that will go on, and the movies and accompanying video games, but with no NEW Potter it's just not the same. Separation anxiety, wot?

Oh well. As a wise man once said, to the well organised mind, death is but the next great adventure.

The Concert for Diana is making me incredibly emo.

Take That just played "Back For Good" and that made me sob like a baby.

And now they're playing "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" over a montage of her life.

Those boys of hers have conducted themselves with such dignity and good nature over the last ten years. Especially considering the gossip, slander and other rubbish regarding her character that they've been confronted with since her death. If I had to hear things like that about my mother I'd be out for blood. Or in jail for murder. We rarely hear them speak of her and they don't seem to bother themselves with discussing what the media says about her. They seem to have managed not to let the loose talk bother them publicly.

My mothers tenth anniversary was the hardest of them all. I remember thinking that ten years would never pass, that it was such a long time that it would never come around and then it did. Ten years went by and time keeps marching on.

I just think those boys are very brave. Sometimes I don't feel that brave.

Haah. I have just been to see Blades of Glory.

Dear mugglerock, I now want to see it another 14 times. You have broken my brain.

Wait. That is not all. I saw the trailer for Harry Potter before teh movie and the girl sitting in the seat next to me said to her friend "Is this that book thing?"

Today marks exactly one month until the last Harry Potter book, And The Deathly Hallows, is released.

I am not sure what I am going to do with myself when Harry Potter ends. I have spent at least the last five years of my life obsessed with these books, more so since Buffy The Vampire Slayer ended in 2003.

So I am not sure what comes next for me. There is still some wind left in the Harry Potter sails, with two more movies left after Order of the Phoenix is released in July, and I am sure that the fandom will live on through fanficcing here on LJ, but without any new canon I am not sure how I will amuse myself.

All that being said, I am costuming up and heading to Sydney with Mark to go to the launch with Elle, and I plan to party it up and to read the book from start to finish on release day, but then....then.

It all ends.

I have had a wonderful time with Harry and he'll always be close to my heart, but the time will come when something new captivates me. I wonder what it's going to be.

The future is suddenly looking thrillingly unknown.

Today we went to a record fair.

I bought lots of records. Then, I was so tired AFTER the record fair that I had to go to bed.

OMG.

It was great.

I was excited.

On the weekend, I went and inspected a house. Mark and I applied for it.

Today, we signed the lease.

OMG we have a house!

I want a Polaroid camera. I need one to live.

Life would be so much more fun with a Polaroid.

My housemate's sister's puppy is living with us for Easter.

At the weekend, work had their industry only trade show in Cairns in northern Queensland. Some of our staff went, but I didn't. Which suits me just fine, as I'd rather chew broken glas than spend three days with our sleazy clients.

Belladonna attended on behalf of Evil Empire.

Belladonna is awesome.

Belladonna signed a poster for me that said "Erin! All my heart! Love Belladonna and Aiden" (Aiden her husband).

She's such a love.

So I am busily slacking off at work and planning mine and Mark's trip to Sydney for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book launch. 
My friend Elle lives up there and she and I went to the HBP book launch back in 2005 when she and I were housemates here in Melbourne. Elle is a special FX makeup artist so she's doing up a prosthetic nose for Mark because he's going to the launch as Professor Snape.
I am sewing him robes when Caitlin moves down and brings the sewing machine with her.

I havent decided who I am going as. But that's okay because there's still time.

We're going to go and see OOTP at the cinema since that comes out on the 12th July. We're gonna take the train up (sleeper carriage) and stay in a hotel near the bookstore. Then we're gonna sleep some on the night of the 20th and then go to the 9am launch.

Then readreadreadread like we can't read no more. Then fly back on the Sunday arvo.

Woo!

Also, going to see the Kaiser Chiefs tonight at the Prince of Wales, so am pumped for that.

Oh, and mugglerock? I love you gorgeous girl!
